[Skills Post 3] New Compare and Contrast Essay

   There are lots of ways to learn English, such as learning in academy, going to camps, or just going abroad where English is naturally exposed to you everywhere. These examples above all seem beneficial to us, but they are all beneficial in different ways. I will compare and contrast each camp by my own standard. First, the quality of teachers, and second, the variety of things that you can learn in this camp.

   First, are the teachers' qualities high enough to let you learn English? Camp Big Apple is good because they are all Korean professors, which means that they are smart enough to teach, and that they had taught lots of students before. Also, Head Star Splash has good qualities with the teachers, too. They are all teachers who are certificated to teach ESL, which is to let others learn English as their second language. They are the teachers who have great qualities, and for sure they have taught lots of students like us, so they are very faithful teachers. On the other hand, Ranch West Camp's teachers do not have as good qualities as the other teachers in other camps. These teachers are all students who just have been graduated local college, which is near the rural area. For sure, they are not certificated, and they do not have as many experiences as the other teachers in other camps. So in this, I will pick Camp Big Apple and Head Start Splash.

   Next standard is the variety of things that you can learn in this camp. Camp Big Apple teaches students mostly about TOEFL, SAT, and more, which are all limited to, 'test preparation'. This is a very small range to learn in a camp. Next is the Ranch West Camp. This camp can learn many things, but we have to choose one that we want to learn, and for sure we will not learn all of them. So, its' range is different depending on the students. Last camp that I want to compare is the Head Start Splash. Unlike the other camps, this camp has the biggest range, because they teach the same way as the International School, which means that we learn almost everything we can learn in school. We have lots of things to learn, which is the thing that increases our English skills. So, in here, the best camp with lots of things to learn will be the Head Start Splash.

   By looking at the standards I have made and by comparing and contrasting all the camps, I believe that it is enough for me to choose the Head Start Splash camp. To add more to tell why this camp is much better than the other camps is because it is near to the beach, which means that if we are tired, we can go to the beach and play there. Also, one of the parent must follow his/her child, and the child will feel more safe with their parents, which might be just better than having no parents to take care of you are having somebody else- such as foster parents to take care of you.

 Some people are afraid of being attacked by sharks when swimming in the open sea. However, the chances are very low. There are more chances of dying by lightning and to drown in the water than to be attacked by sharks.There are some ways to prevent being attacked by sharks. First, move in groups. Next, stay out of water if you have a cut.

Once upon a time there was an evil elf who tried to conquer all the people in the world. The elf was an elf who was kicked out of the elf world because she did many crimes. However, the elf had a poor past. She was thrown away by her parents. She had no name, and everyone just called her 'Orph', because she was an orphan, and is still one. Orph thought she needs somebody smart on her side to conquer the world, so she found a human girl named Violet.

Violet was young, smart girl and she always took the first place in school. Violet was also popular. However, Violet didn't have any true friends. Violet met a beautiful girl who looked about her age. That girl had said that she had no name, and that everyone called her Orph. Violet felt that they can be good friends, so without knowing anything, Violet decided to help Orph.

One day Orph and Violet met at their secret labratory. Orph asked,
"What do I need when I make a poison to brainwash people?"
Violet did not know what to say, because she couldn't understand why Orph would ask such a question. So Vioet just said that she has no idea. Orph knew at a sight that Violet was lying. So Orph decided to tell Violet the truth tomorrow, and tell her who she really is.

One peaceful afternoon, Orph was waiting for Violet to come to her lab. So Orph was waiting Violet in front of the crosswalk. Green light went on, and Violet came walking. But at a sudden, a car came, and... Violet flew.

When Orph opened her eyes, she saw Violet lying down. Someone called 119 and the hospital car came. Orph couldn't think of anything. Orph at the first place didn't want to conquer the world because Violet let her know that not all people are mean. Tears came out of Orph's eyes.

When Orph visited Violet, she was lying down. The doctor said that she might die. Orph prayed, that she will die for Violet. Orph didn't realize that she prayed for 5 hours. Then, Orph heard a sound.

"Dear Orph, come back to the elf's world. If you do, we will make your friend back to life."

Orph cried out,
"Yes! I will sacrifice myself for Violet!"



Violet woke up. But Orph wasn't there...

[Corn Frost] What does the world eat?

 Today, I will be talking about what the world eats. This family is the Ayme family of Tingo,

and the picture above is what they eat per week. The cost of the money takes about $31.55, and the recipe is Potato soup with Cabbage. For my guess, I think that there is green onion, bananas, carrots, cabbages, and potato there. There must be more food, but these are just some of the things that I guess that is the things there.

 By looking at the picture, we can easily know that they only have vegetables to eat. They are different from Korea's normal families, because in Korea, if we see the foods for one week, we can see meat, vegetables, some instant foods... Lots and Lots of varieties of food.

 Also, for normal Koreans we have only 4~7 family members to eat lots of things. On the other hand, this family has many children but only vegetables to eat, and the amount is small for growing children.

 By looking at the picture, I found out that some countries are lucky and they eat freely like us. However, some families like Ayme family from Tingo, cannot eat as many things and as delicious things as we can eat. I felt that we should not leave out meats and such things like that because some children in our age cannot even think of eating that kind of food.

 In a busy city, a hedgehog named Harry was abandoned by his owners. One day, Harry was crawling across the road. One person said Harry is cute. Harry was surprised because he never heard that before. "Thank you" Harry said. But Harry didn't want to hear that sound ever again. So, he transformed to a handsome guy, not a cute guy. Then, Henry got rich. Since he was rich and handsome, he was popular. He went to place to place and spent his money on silly expensive things. Then he became a beggar on June. Sob sob... He was crying. Then he changed his name to Junesob and went to GLPS. He is 13 years old now. But he got killed by the PAs and TAs.
